University of Deusto

The University of Deusto was founded in 1886 by the Society of Jesus. With campuses in Bilbao and San Sebastian and branches in Vitoria and Madrid, its hallmarks are training in skills and values, thanks to its own socially recognized pedagogical model. It is also characterized by its specialized research, its commitment to justice and its international projection. The UD recognizes that it has been contributing to the fields identified by the SDGs for years, while also feeling challenged by the scope and content of many of them. The UD has identified four cross-cutting themes: Education, Gender, Social Justice and Ecology, on which it is working and in which it is addressing the challenges of the SDGs.

A total of 8826 undergraduate and 2017 graduate students are enrolled at the UD. The University of Deusto offers undergraduate and graduate programs in disciplines such as law, business, engineering and social sciences. Its Faculty of Law is distinguished by its focus on research, knowledge generation and transfer, achieving a balance between academic production and its impact on society.

The faculty houses the Institute of Human Rights, composed of more than 20 professionals dedicated to teaching, research, awareness and defense of fundamental rights.

In addition, the Deusto Law School has obtained the Quality Management System (QMS) certification in accordance with Unibasq’s AUDIT program, and more than 50% of its degree programs have passed the individual accreditation renewal process.

Its experience in research and in the implementation of quality management systems will be key to ensure the excellence of the training sessions foreseen in the project.
